History Repeats Itself?

After finishing second on the ladder, the Capital League 3 Men’s team took on minor premiers St George Willawong on Saturday night.
When these two teams met in the season opener at Willawong, nobody could have predicted the 8-1 thrashing handed out by the Saints after which Caboolture gained revenge with a 4-1 win at Grant Road.
On Saturday night it was again a one-sided affair with Caboolture dominating from the start with James Fairgrieve scoring in the second minute. St George evened the score after 24 minutes with a goal by David Grecl but Caboolture’s defence was hard to break down.
The supporters were treated to a game which was great to watch; the Caboolture team operated as a well-oiled machine while all the boys played with great ball control and speed.
James Fairgrieve ended up scoring four goals, bringing his total up to 27, while Manuel Garcia scored the 90th goal of the season for the Capital League 3 team.
This is a carbon copy of 2016 in Capital 4 when the Saints won the Premiership and played the Snakes in the major Semi Final. Caboolture won that and then went on to win the Grand Final, while the Saints lost the Preliminary Final. Will history repeat itself?
The Snakes will have a rest this weekend while AC Carina plays St George; the winner will face Caboolture the weekend of 16th September.
The table-topping Caboolture Reserve grade team lost 1-3 from Bardon Latrobe on Friday night and will play AC Carina Sunday evening in Narangba to try and advance to the grand final and rack up two more goals to reach the magical 100 mark for the season.
